InOPEN ('In' stands for India and 'Open' for Open Source Technology. 'In' also stands for 'getting inside' or 'exploring' open sourcetechnology in the Indian IT/ICT sector)technology works towards the promotion of open source technology. FOSS being affordable in every respect as compared to proprietary software also serves as the best technology solution for dissemination of technical know-how to the masses.

The only barrier being a first time Open Source training, a user requires for getting acquainted with the software. This problem is addressed through the FOSS trainings undertaken by the company and lot of free literature available on Internet . Also, in long term, to make it a household utility the company has launched Computer Masti in the market.Computer Masti is one of its kind computer curriculum developed by IIT Bombay and InOPEN Technologies for the schools.It teaches concepts behind the various topics in computer education, and does that in a platform (proprietary/open source) independent fashion. However, the skills required to be taught, to reinforce the concept, uses FOSS because of the cost factor, making it affordable for a wide range of audience.
