InOPEN and Open SourceOpen source describes practices in production and development that promote access to the end product's source materials. Open source includes the concept of concurrent yet different agendas and differing approaches in production, in contrast with more centralized models of development A main principle and practice of open source software development is peer production by collaboration, with the end-product, source-material, and documentation available for free for the public. InOpen has been deeply embedded in the open-source community from the start. We’re always looking for ways to continue our support of software, systems and the developers that create them. Our Product Computer Masti is built around Open Source and FOSS based applications. We believe in openness and longevity of solutions which we teach in schools. Schools and colleges face difficulty in a long run using proprietary software and applications as issues like piracy, maintenance and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) keeps on coming up. During the initial stages of their career, founders of Inopen were involved in Open source based vocational trainings. In this period they trained around 6000 students across 11 engineering colleges. Training of Indian Airforce was also undertaken on behalf of RedHAT. One of our upcoming products TuxMATE is our venture into vocational trainings space dealing with diploma and short term courses in Open Source related subjects like Linux, Shell Scripting and Kernel Programming. Apart from this we promote FOSS based softwares in schools and events which we conduct. |
